Classical Guitars
This is a small selection of the guitars we have in stock.
Classical guitars usually have a wide and flat fingerboard, spanning 12 frets from the nut to the body, complemented by a flat top and a round-shouldered body.
Typically, the strings are made of nylon, providing a smooth and gentle feel under the fingers.
The top three strings are crafted from bare nylon, producing a sweet and clear sound, while the lower three strings have a fine wire wound over a nylon core, giving them a rich and resonant tone.
This string configuration not only contributes to the guitar's unique sound but also offers a comfortable playing experience, making it accessible to beginners and seasoned players alike. The fingerboard provides ample room for individual string playing and has the added benefit of catering to players with larger fingers.
Classical guitars are available in various sizes, commonly referred to as 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 4/4, indicating a full size instrument.
The smaller sizes are designed for children. As a rough guide 1/4 size for 5-7 year olds, 1/2 size for 7-9 year olds, 3/4 size for 9-12 year olds and 4/4 size for 12+ years. Some adults buy a smaller size classical
guitars to use as a travel guitar.
